Its also a track that naturally lends itself to remixes, and I thought the percussive mix here was really cool. It was well-staged, with fun use of props that gave a lighter-than-expected vibe to a stage I assumed would be nothing more than puffed-up chests and general badassery. Still, kudos to all the groups, they all did GREAT!^^, For me I believe that IKON and BTOB showed something different whereas the other 4 performances were almost similar. Some people were like oh, their vocals were off, but I like to hear them struggle tbh. Even if I havent always cared for their performances, iKON have been one of the most entertaining groups to watch on Kingdom. None were bad by any means, they just werent over the top or something unexpected. The remixes were eh for the most part. BTOB and iKON tied for fifth place in the expert judges evaluations, but BTOB came in fourth place overall due to their high ranking in the contestants votes, while iKON took fifth place in the contestants votes. The guys say they havent been on a competition show before, but Id argue that that series was as cutthroat as it gets, even though it was probably fixed from the beginning. Isnt it a bit impressive or do they really think were not good enough?. There were some real striking shots, using a variety of camera angles. Stray Kids To calm things even more, I dont feel like I have a horse in this race. But those looking for an upset should probably tune into a different show with a different voting system. It felt like a knockoff and less impactful version of the Mayfly Wolf stage. SF9 took a commanding lead last week, revealing a stage and concept that felt new for them. iKON took the top spot for me. I like their theme of delinquents, even if its not very original. I like Stray Kids. The groups ranked 1, 2, and 6 were revealed during the second episode on April 8, 2021. They come across as very authentic and comfortable in their own skin. On another note, I feel so bad for the seven members of the boyz who arent Juyeon, Sunwoo, Hyunjae, or Q as they were basically backup dancers for this stage. The show pits six K-pop boy groups against one another for the opportunity to be crowned K-pop's King. I always enjoyed they never lipsyncd his parts but rather Hongjoon interpreted those moments his own way. I mean, dont get me wrong. I dont know how they feel on our stage. I was really looking forward to The Boyzs stage as their track was my favorite. Although somehow I still dont know how to pronounce Peniel correctly. If there was an audience, they could have hyped up the crowd and really did their things, but they chose to just dance which happens to be their weakest area. So, the editing of each performances may inadvertently factor into my rankings. Take the craft seriously, and please please take the songs seriously, but not everything has to have fifteen layers of meaning and be performed like a battle cry. Poor (or lucky?) I know their music, of course, and like quite a lot of it. Check back frequently for new reviews and commentary on everything K-Pop! But I really liked how they were so passionate, told a clear story, and sang live. Why couldnt they have performed Take Me Home instead?!? But, an excellent performance can elevate a so-so song, and vice versa. That might not be to their benefit in the context of a legendary war, but its a nice contrast to some of the younger groups who are still finding their way. Im curious to what their next comeback is gonna be like and what life after Kingdom is going to be like. Hopefully, things get better from now on, and they find an excuse to allow Changmin to do a solo vocal stage. I feel like the point of the show is to try new stages/styles. Ateez comes last unfortunately because their choice of remixing heavy sounds did not showcase what their song Wave actually portrays.
